She’s Sixteen…

28 01 2012

and beautiful.

So, she’s actually almost seventeen (gasp!), but here are some pictures I’ve taken of our daughter, Jordan, this year-to celebrate who she is at sixteen.

Strong.  Creative.  Funny.  Independent.  Determined.  Smart.  Dreamer.  Friend.  Compassionate.  Beautiful.  Lover of Life. A light-up-the-room smile.  Helper.  Sister.  Daughter.

These are just a few of the words that describe her, celebrate who she is.

But most of all, she is a gift to us.

“A daughter is one of the most beautiful gifts this world has to give.”  ~ Laurel Atherton

We love you, J.  You are growing into an amazing young woman and we are proud of you!

Here Comes Santa Clause

4 12 2011

and I guarantee it’s the cutest little Santa you’ve ever seen!

Little Miss Kamdyn gave us lots of fun Christmas photos (in some amazing outfits) and I wanted to share a few.

Ho Ho Ho!

TuTu tasting…

and in a vintage dress that belonged to Mommy

Speaking of Mommy, here’s a fun shot with her

and how about one with Daddy – who obviously makes her smile?

I guess now we’ll just say,
“Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night!”

Thank you, Hollee & Price, for asking me to take some fun and beautiful pictures of your blessing.  Merry Christmas!

Where It All Started

1 12 2011

It was a beautiful afternoon spent with Bryan and Lora and their three children one day last week at Hafer Park.  As the kids were running around, pointing at the ducks and pond and squirrels and trees, I found out that Hafer Park’s gazebo is where Bryan asked Lora to marry him, about ten years ago.

So we had to capture a photo of this sweet family- at the same spot -where it all started several years ago.

We love you guys so much, thank you for spending the afternoon with me.  Enjoy your sneak peek!

She’s not three anymore…

16 11 2011

It just so happens I met this beautiful girl when she was three years old…and now she’s graduating from high school in 2012.  I remember nights of doing her nails, playing games & pillow fights when she was a preschooler.  It’s kinda fun to watch someone grow up, especially when they grow into someone who is beautiful, compassionate, funny, smart and in love with Jesus.

Thank you, Mackenzie, for allowing me to take your senior pictures.  It was definitely a privilege for me.  Now one of these days, I really will get around to posting some of those pictures I have from preschool years.  But for today, this sneak peek of your senior pictures will have to do.  Love you, sweet girl!

First comes love…

“Every child you encounter is a Divine appointment”.  — Wess Stafford (President of Compassion International)

Tara & Adam are longtime friends of ours.  We watched them date, get engaged and married.  And now, a few years later,  they have three kids…all under the age of 3!  What fun it is to see the joy they have now as parents.  I loved photographing their beautiful little family.  So….here’s a sneak peek of the photo session with Tara and Adam, Harper, Sam & Eli.  Happy fall y’all!

Look who’s 1!

Meet Rhett.  See that smile?  And how it shines all the way through those sky blue eyes?  And oh, how I wish you could hear him giggle.  It’s contagious.  His family is precious, too, and it was my honor to help them celebrate his first birthday through photos.

Happy birthday, Rhett.  Look who’s 1!

My favorite Cowgirl…and her favorite Cowboys!

21 07 2011

“Ride like the wind — never look back.” — Cowgirl quote

If you know my friend Melissa, you know she’s everything a cowgirl should be…& even more!  Her spirit of adventure brought her from Montana to Oklahoma a few years ago and I have watched her chase wholeheartedly after her dreams since we met.  I was so pleased when she asked me to take some pictures of her two favorite cowboys, so here are a few pictures from our shoot.

Melissa, you are my favorite Cowgirl & I had so much fun with your favorite Cowboys!

Sugar & Spice

20 07 2011

What are little girls made of?

Sugar & spice,

and everything nice,

that’s what little girls are made of.

I spent a day with my longtime friend, Summer, a few weeks ago and it was very refreshing.  She has two beautiful girls who are an absolute joy.  Look at these sweet faces…they are certainly “sugar and spice and everything nice!” I introduce you to Jada, 4 months old and Sadie, age 2.  I hope their friendship to each other throughout life is at least an ounce of the blessing their mom’s friendship has been to me.

Pretty in (purplish) Pink

17 06 2011

Our girls were blessed with a closet full of beautiful dresses a few months ago, and this one is by far their favorite.

So here’s Mackenzie, in the puple-pink ball gown that makes her feel like a princess.  She loves to try it on and let it swish from side to side or to sit and spread the skirt all around her.

These pictures were captured in our backyard one night before dusk and I love the way they turned out.  As beautiful as Mackenzie is on the outside, she is even more radiant on the inside.  Love you, Kenz!

Smiles & Giggles

26 05 2011

“A laugh is a smile that bursts.”  ~ Mary H. Waldrip

Sweet little Sydney (almost 2) was a blast to shoot.  I mean, you can’t help but notice that when she smiles, her whole face smiles, too.  Sydney’s mom, Sarah, is a good friend of ours who happens to have amazing artistic talent.  She recently painted a mural in our house that definitely has the “wow” factor.  But more importantly, she is the beautiful mommy to this beautiful smiling girl, Sydney.

Enjoy your sneak peek, Sarah & thank you for your friendship!

I did catch a couple of her more serious moments…

And um, hello modeling agency?  I’ve got one for you…

But there’s that smile, again, accompanied by giggles…can’t beat it.
